2nd Edition of the Local Roads Supplement to NZTA COPTTM
Welcome to the 2nd Edition of the Local Roads Supplement to the NZ
Transport Agency’s Code of Practice for Temporary Traffic Management.
The Supplement has recently been reviewed to help ensure it reflects
best safe work practices on the Local Roads. This Supplement has been
produced by the Road Controlling Authorities (RCA) Forum at the request
of its members to make temporary traffic management more effective on
Local Roads in New Zealand. This 2nd Edition version therefore supersedes
the earlier document, 1st Edition LRS.
The Supplement allows Local Road traffic management plans to be prepared
quickly and easily yet meet appropriate safety and traffic standards.
The approval process has been simplified and the diagrams cover a wide
range of Local Road situations. The diagrams are based on traffic management
principles which are clearly set out.
It is expected that this Supplement eventually will be amalgamated
with the NZTA Code of Practice for Temporary Traffic Management to provide
a single standard for temporary traffic management operations in New
Zealand.
